9:39 p.m. Sunday — A Tennessee woman was arrested for driving under the influence after she allegedly ran a red light on the 300 block of East Jefferson Street.

Rebecca N. Lee, 23, of Parsons failed sobriety tests following the traffic stop, according to court documents, and she was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results are pending.

Police said Lee admitted that she smoked crystal methamphetamine earlier that day.

She was arraigned on charges of DUI, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license and a red light violation.

July 12 — Zackary J. Delaney, 20, of Butler was charged with taking several items from a Mercer Street home Oct. 23. Stolen were three video games, a sweat shirt, hat and two pocket knives.

Delaney admitted taking the property, valued at $145, according to court documents, while on speaker phone with the victim and three other people. He is charged with a second-degree misdemeanor count of theft.

July 9 — An Armstrong County man was charged with having suspected crack cocaine stemming from a call last month for two people causing a disturbance at a home on the 200 block of Maple Avenue and walking through yards nearby on the 200 block of Lincoln Avenue.

Police said they caught Brad J. Harriett, 45, of Ford City about 11 p.m. coming out of a house on Maple Avenue. Officers searched him and found a small bag containing suspected crack in his pants pocket, according to court documents.

Harriett is charged with possession of a controlled substance, loitering and prowling at night, and disorderly conduct.

July 9 — Sarah S. Schoeffel, 38, of Butler was charged with having drug contraband following at May traffic stop on Route 8 south. Police said they stopped her about 10:20 p.m. May 11 because she was driving a car with a broken windshield.

Police said they subsequently learned that Schoeffel did not have a valid driver’s license. An inventory search of the car turned up a digital scale, according to court documents.

The defendant also turned over a crack pipe that was in her car. She is charged with two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Police also cited her for driving under suspension.

11:54 p.m. July 6 — Police allegedly caught a Center Township teenager with a crack pipe following his arrest on a bench warrant on the 100 block of Mitchell Avenue The defendant, 19-year-old Jacob U. Vandevort-Renforth is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

4:52 p.m. Monday — Cameron J. Allen, 19, of Butler lost control of his car and crashed into an embankment, rolling over on Decatur Drive just past College Drive.

Police said Allen did not appear to be injured but he was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for evaluation. His vehicle had to be towed. He was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.

Monday — Joshua J. Space, 25, of Butler was charged with having marijuana following a traffic stop for speeding at 4:23 p.m. July 10 on Route 422.

He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license and speeding.

Monday — Police charged Maximillian W. Halterman, 22, of Butler with having Xanax without a prescription after he passed out July 4 at his home on South Eberhart Road. He is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

3:59 a.m. Saturday — A Westmoreland County woman was allegedly caught with two oxycodone pills after she reportedly passed out on the sidewalk in front of the Giant Eagle store at Moraine Pointe Plaza.

Police said the defendant, Megan P. Tinker, 34, of Arnold, did not have a prescription for the pills. She is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness.

Friday — Police charged Ronna S. Gralitzer-Brite, 52, of Harrisville with a shoplifting incident last month at the Butler Commons’ Walmart. She is accused of attempting to steal $450.95 on June 8.

Gralitzer-Brite is charged with a misdemeanor count of retail theft.

7:18 a.m. Monday — A car driven by Danielle R. Mullins, 34, of Kennerdell, Venango County, struck a guardrail after hitting a deer on Route 38 just north of Parsonville Road in Washington Township. She was not injured and her car sustained only minor damage.

Sunday — An unknown burglar broke into a home on the 2000 block of Route 68 in Fairview Township. The burglary happened between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

6 p.m. Saturday — Two children were among three people hurt when a car struck a tree in Cherry Township. The driver, Brienna D. Simmons, 18, of Slippery Rock, and two passengers, a 12-year-old Harrisville girl and a 14-year-old Slippery Rock girl, all suffered minor injuries.

Simmons told police that the wreck happened when she swerved her car headed east on Kiester Road to avoid an unidentified vehicle traveling in the opposite direction and in the middle of the road. The other driver did not stop.

All three occupants in the car were wearing seat belts. The car had to be towed.

10:03 a.m. July 6 — A distracted driver was blamed for a three-vehicle wreck in Chicora that left two people injured. Police said Devon M. Rottman, 36, of Parker was unable to stop his sport utility vehicle in time and hit the back of a car on North Main Street.

The collision just north of West Slippery Rock Street forced the car, driven by Karen B. Lopez, 43, of Denton, Texas, into another vehicle, which fled. Police apparently have not identified that vehicle or driver.

Rottman, who was wearing a seat belt, and one of his passengers, a 7-year-old Parker girl, both suffered minor injuries. Police cited Rottman for following too closely to another vehicle.

July 6 — Matthew P. McCarthy-Arnone, no address given, of Butler Township was charged with indecent assault and indecent exposure stemming from a two-year-old incident in Chicora.

Police said McCarthy-Arnone pulled down a woman’s shirt and exposed himself to her July 28, 2016, in a parking lot on Route 68. The defendant at the time was apparently working for a chauffeur-type service and driving the victim home.

Court documents did not indicate why it took police so long to file charges.

July 2 — Karen S. Verheyen, 50, of West Sunbury was arrested for felony shoplifting after video surveillance allegedly showed her placing bottled beverages in her purse at Thompson’s Market on Main Street in West Sunbury.

Verheyen, who has three prior shoplifting convictions, was arraigned on felony counts of theft, receiving stolen property and retail theft. She was released on $10,000 unsecured bail following arraignment.

6:41 p.m. July 8 — An unknown thief traded in a stolen bicycle for a stolen sport utility vehicle in East Brady.

Police said the unknown suspect rode a bike, which had previously been stolen, to the Family Dollar parking lot. According to a police report, the thief got into an unlocked white, 1998 Subaru Forester.

The suspect sped away southbound on Route 68. Police said they recovered the vehicle the next morning in East Brady.

July 4 — An unknown burglar made off with unspecified property from a 33-year-old woman’s home on Kellys Way in East Brady. The break-in happened between June 29 and June 4.

July 10 — Police reported they are investigating the use of counterfeit money in May at the store at the Premium Outlets in Springfield Township.

According to a police report, an unknown suspect on May 19 used a phony 50-dollar bill to purchase an item at Vanity Fair. The bogus bill was found later that night when an employee was tallying up the day’s receipts.
