4:26 p.m. Thursday — Chelsie J. Bauman, 31, was arrested on charges she struck her 6-year-old daughter during a domestic dispute at the family’s home on the 300 block of West Diamond Street.

The girl told police that Bauman punched her in the mouth, according to court documents. The child suffered a minor cut to the lower lip.

Bauman was gone by the when police got to the home. Officers later found her on a nearby porch.

District Judge Lewis Stoughton arraigned her on a charge of simple assault. She was placed in Butler County Prison on $30,000 bail.

Thursday — Jennifer R. Blystone, 34, was charged with having suspected marijuana and other drug contraband at her apartment on Bessemer Avenue in Lyndora. Police said they were at her home as part of an unrelated investigation.

Blystone is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

2:54 p.m. Tuesday — A 17-year-old student allegedly punched another student in the chest at Butler High School. Police cited the older boy for harassment. The victim, a 16-year-old boy, was not injured.

12:41 p.m. Tuesday — Police said Tracy Deal, 47, of Butler was hurt when she lost control of her car on road-soaked Mercer Road near Rose Hill Cemetery and struck railroad ties. She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unspecified injuries.

6:45 p.m. Sunday — A 60-year-old Butler man, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 8 in Penn Township. Police said charges are pending toxicology results.

6:22 p.m. May 13 — One person was hurt in a suspected drunken driving crash in Muddy Creek Township. The wreck happened when a car driven by Donald B. Jones, 70, of Wildwood, Allegheny County rear-ended a pickup truck on Route 422.

The impact forced the pickup driven by Roy F. Fitzwater, 43, of Portersville into the back of a sport utility vehicle driven by William S. Herman, 54, of Butler.

Fitzwater, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered an apparent minor injury. Police said Jones was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence.

10:27 p.m. May 11 — Toby J. Best, 31, of Parker was hurt when he swerved his sport utility vehicle to avoid a deer and overturned on Cherry Run Road near Dunlap Hill Road in Toby Township. Best, who was wearing, suffered an unknown injury.

A family member took him by private vehicle to Clarion Hospital.

3:19 p.m. Monday — Sport utility vehicles driven by Deborah A. Smith, 62, of Kittanning and Marvin E. Hall, 59, of Rimersburg collided on Route 68 just north of Seybertown Road in Bradys Bend Township.

Hall’s passenger, Melinda R. Gilhousen, 53, of Rimersburg, was taken to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh with unknown injuries. Smith was taken to ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township with an apparent minor injury.

Smith was wearing a seat belt; Hall and Gilhousen were not.

5:40 p.m. May 12 — No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash in South Buffalo Township. The wreck happened on Route 28 about two miles north of exit 17 when Joselyn N. Crissman, 26, of Kittanning lost control of her car and spun out, hitting a bridge railing.

9:26 p.m. May 10 — A car driven by Peggy E. Bowser, 53, of East Brady struck a deer on Magnani Lane just west of Route 68 in Bradys Bend Township.

Neither Bowser nor her passenger, a 16-year-old girl, were injured. Both occupants were wearing seat belts. The car had to be towed. Police cited Smith for disregarding traffic lanes.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Mercer[/naviga:h3]

Tuesday — Police reported they are investigating the May 3 theft of a 29-year-old Grove City woman’s cell phone from an unlocked vehicle at the parking lot of Black Out Burger Bar on Westside Square Drive in Springfield Township.

12:59 p.m. May 11 — Julie M. Lutz, 42, of Grove City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence following a two-vehicle crash on George Junior Road in Pine Township. Lutz was taken to Grove City Medical Center for a blood test.

Police said charges are pending toxicology results.
