Tuesday — Marissa N. Ehrman, 24, of Butler was charged with felony shoplifting for allegedly failing to scan 44 items of merchandise, valued at $246.12, at the self-checkout aisle Jan. 6 at the Walmart at Butler Commons.

Ehrman, who has at least two prior shoplifting convictions, is charged with a felony count of retail theft.

Tuesday — Police charged Rachael Ann Ferderbar, 25, of Butler in connection with a shoplifting incident last month at the Butler Commons Walmart. She was alleged to have taken $529 worth of merchandise on Dec. 12.

Ferderbar is charged with a misdemeanor count of retail theft.

[naviga:h3]Grove City Police[/naviga:h3]

Wednesday — A set of car keys was found on College Avenue and turned in to police. The owner can pick up the keys at the station at 337 E. Pine St.

Tuesday — A black Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus cell phone was stolen from the boys locker room at Grove City High School. The phone was taken about 2 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.

7:51 p.m. Jan. 11 — Bryan A. Schrubb, 23, of Grove City was arrested for struggling with police following a vehicle accident in the parking lot of the Main Street Diner.

Police said Schrubb was not involved in the accident but after they got there he started arguing with officers and causing a disturbance.

Officers attempted to place the defendant under arrest but he continued using profane language and disobeying orders, according to a police report.

Schrubb eventually locked himself in his vehicle and continued to fight with officers as they attempted to arrest him.

He was arraigned on charges of resisting arrest, obstructing the administration of law or other governmental functions and disorderly conduct. He was placed in the Mercer County Jail on $10,000 bail following arraignment.

Jan. 10 — A Clarion County man was charged with drunken driving stemming from a traffic stop last month in Chicora. Police said they stopped Sabatino A. Marano, 26, of East Brady for crossing the double yellow line about 11:10 p.m. Dec. 29 on Chicora-Fenelton Road near East Slippery Rock Road.

Troopers said the road was icy and Marano was driving about 15 mph over the posted 45 mph speed limit.

The defendant admitted that he was coming from a bar in Clearfield Township where he had several drinks, according to court documents. He showed impairment during field sobriety tests and was taken for a breath test that showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.10 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.

In addition to driving under the influence, he is charged with disregarding traffic lanes, driving too fast for conditions and careless driving.

Dec. 18 — Police charged William J. O’Connor Jr., 29, of Saxonburg with being more than 2½ times the state’s legal limit for alcohol in connection with an October one-vehicle rollover crash in Winfield Township.

O’Connor was speeding on the 200 block of Brose Road about 9:50 p.m. Oct. 27 when he lost control of his sport utility vehicle and overturned, according to court documents. He admitted that he had been drinking earlier, police said.

Police said they also found him with marijuana and two drug-smoking pipes.

He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.215 percent. He also had unspecified drugs in his system.

O’Connor is charged with DUI, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving too fast for conditions, disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and reckless driving.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Kittanning[/naviga:h3]

Friday — Nothing was reported taken in a burglary at the home of a 74-year-old woman’s home at Edwards Estate in West Franklin Township. Police are investigating.

5:32 p.m. Jan. 11 — Two people including a Templeton woman were hurt in a three-vehicle wreck on Route 268 just west of Linde Road in West Kittanning.

The crash happened when a sport utility vehicle driven by James P. Lallemand, 49, of Templeton struck the rear of another vehicle driven by Beverly J. Conner, 68, of Kittanning. A third vehicle driven by Russell E. Hartman, 31, of Kittanning, in turn, was involved in the wreck.

Conner suffered minor injuries, as did Lallemand’s passenger, Sandy L. Titus, 48, of Templeton. Both were wearing seat belts.

Police cited Lallemand for following too closely to another vehicle.

5:45 p.m. Jan. 8 — Loren E. Rommel, 43, of Ford City lost control of her SUV on slush and struck a concrete barrier before spinning out on Route 28 south at Church Road in North Buffalo Township. Neither Rimmel nor a 12-year-old girl riding in the vehicle was hurt. Both occupants were wearing seat belts.

8:30 p.m. Jan. 7 — An unknown person entered Rupp Car Wash on Butler Road in East Franklin Township, Armstrong County, sometime overnight. The person stole an undisclosed amount of money and also broke a window of a van on the property.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Mercer[/naviga:h3]

Jan. 10 — Lance R. Johnson Jr., 29, of Grove City was arrested on shoplifting and drug charges in connection with incidents this month in Pine Township and Grove City.

Police allege Johnson on Jan. 7 was caught taking merchandise at the Walmart in Pine Township. While at the defendant’s home investigating that case, according to a police report, a trooper noticed suspected cocaine and a snorting straw.

Johnson was arraigned on misdemeanor charges of retail theft, receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. He is free on $25,000 unsecured bail.
