12:10 a.m. Tuesday — Robert J. Wilhelm, 38, of Washington Township was arrested after he was caught, allegedly intoxicated, hiding in another man’s vehicle at a home in the 300 block of South Monroe Street.

The owner of the vehicle told police that Wilhelm was not permitted in the vehicle and he asked that officers remove the unwanted intruder.

Wilhelm was charged with public drunkenness.

3:07 p.m. Monday — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle wreck on Route 8 south. The crash happened when a car driven by Cody Smith, 17, of Chicora pulled out of the Burger King restaurant parking lot and struck a southbound Jeep Cherokee.

The collision caused the Jeep, driven by Eugene Mills, 67, of Masury, Ohio, to roll over. The vehicle ended up on its wheels, according to a police report.

Mills and a 15-year-old girl who was riding in the car were both taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with apparent minor injuries.

The report said unspecified charges are pending.

9:30 p.m. Saturday — Selena Y. Klapheke, 21, and Tara L. Hockenberry, 24, both of Butler were arrested on warrants after police found them in the back parking lot at the Chili’s Grill & Bar at Butler Commons.

Additionally, police charged Klapheke with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and Hockenberry with possession of drug paraphernalia and false identification to law enforcement authorities.

Both defendants were arraigned on the charges and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail each.

May 9 — Christian L. Pfeil, 20, of Clearfield Township was charged with drugged driving and drug possession in connection with a traffic stop last year in Butler Township. He was stopped about 8:55 p.m. Dec. 14 for having no rear lights while traveling on Route 422 and Route 8.

Police said Pfeil appeared impaired and he admitted to having smoked marijuana four hours before he was stopped, according to court documents. A trooper also noticed a marijuana bong behind the driver’s seat.

The defendant allowed police to look through his vehicle. Among the items seized was a baggie containing marijuana, a pill bottle containing medication for which he did not have a prescription, two marijuana pipes and a marijuana grinder.

Pfeil was arrested after failing a field sobriety test and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, which confirmed he had marijuana in his system.

He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, possession of a small amount of marijuana, careless driving and the lighting violation.

May 9 — Tyler D. Smith, 32, of Butler was charged with having drug contraband stemming from a traffic stop last month in Butler Township. Police said they pulled over Smith for driving under suspension about 3:15 p.m. April 19 in the 1100 block of North Street Extension.

According to court documents, he also was wanted on an arrest warrant by McCandless Township police in Allegheny County.

He was eventually placed in the Allegheny County Jail.
