Butler Police5:31 p.m. Friday — Charles W. Burgess Jr., 23, of Butler was arrested after he allegedly stole a coat from the Kmart store at Pullman Square and pushed two employees in his failed getaway.Police said a pair of Kmart loss prevention officers noticed Burgess take the $35 coat off the rack and put it on, according to court documents. When those employees tried to stop him from leaving the store, Burgess allegedly shoved them out of the way and ran out the door.A short time later, police saw the suspect walking on South Sixth Street.Burgess was arraigned on a felony charge of robbery, because he used force in the alleged shoplifting. He also was arraigned on a felony count of retail theft, because he has two prior shoplifting convictions.He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail following arraignment.

Butler Township PoliceMonday — Elizabeth Ann Moyer, 22, of New Castle was charged with drunken driving in connection with a crash last month on McCalmont Road. Moyer wrecked her vehicle on railroad tracks about 3:40 a.m. Sept. 25.In addition to driving under the influence, she is charged with driving at an unsafe speed and careless driving.Monday — Police charged Logan R. Maher, 20, of Butler with DUI stemming from a criminal mischief call at 2:44 a.m. Sept. 25 at the Super 8 hotel on Route 8 south. Maher also is charged with underage drinking as well as driving with an open container of alcohol.7:44 p.m. Friday — A vehicle driven by Jacqueline Twisdom, 25, of Butler collided with another vehicle while she changed lanes on Route 8 south at the Super 8. Police cited her for disregarding traffic lanes. Daniel Willis, 37, of Renfrew was the other driver.

Grove City PoliceSunday — An unknown thief entered a vehicle at a home in the 500 block of Superior Street and stole three remote control trucks and a battery. The property, valued at $1,820, was taken between Oct. 16 and Sunday.Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.11:41 p.m. Thursday — Kenneth P. Grebiner, 49, of Grove City landed in trouble with the law after a disturbance at a home on West Poplar Street. Police charged him with public drunkenness, trespass and disorderly conduct.9:10 p.m. Thursday — Vehicles driven by Sandra Johnson, 52, and Megan Jones, 29, both of Grove City, collided at East Main and South Broad streets. Police cited Johnson for not stopping at a red light.

State Police, Butler11 a.m. Thursday — Kayla M. Hamilton, 19, of Karns City is accused of stealing unspecified property from Bloomfield School Road in Muddy Creek Township. Police said she faces a charge of theft.Thursday — Audrey M. McKivigan, 25, of Butler was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic stop last month in Butler. Police said they saw the suspect about 1:40 a.m. Sept. 3 in the 400 block of West Jefferson Street driving a car with faulty rear lights.A short time later, they found her nearby pumping gas in the car at the A-Plus store. McKivigan appeared impaired but denied that she had consumed alcohol.A trooper while speaking to her noticed what appeared to be needle marks on both hands, according to court documents. She subsequently was arrested after failing field sobriety tests.Police took her to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Documents did not disclose the toxicology results.McKivigan is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license, careless driving and two lighting violations,

State Police, Kittanning1:58 p.m. Sunday — A Kittanning couple was caught allegedly shoplifting a cart full of groceries, valued at $260 at the Walmart at the Hilltop Plaza shopping center in East Franklin Township.Police did not identify the suspects, a 24-year-old woman and a 30-year-old woman. Charges of retail theft are pending against both.5:25 p.m. Saturday — Betty L. Kimpel, 79, of Kittanning was hurt when she crashed the car she was driving on rain-soaked Ping Wing Hollow Road in Manor Township. The car traveled up an embankment and ended up on its roof.Kimpel, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township with minor injuries. Police cited her for driving too fast for conditions.Volunteer firefighters from Manor Township, Kittanning and Kittanning Township assisted at the scene.Oct. 17 — An unknown thief stole $12,000 worth of Rosebud Mining Co.-owned cable on Kelly Station Road in Bethel Township. The property was stolen between Oct. 14 and 17. The investigation continues and anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-542-2011.

State Police, Franklin12:11 p.m. Sunday — Robert L. Harris, 50, of Grove City was hurt when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a ditch on Gilmore Road in Irwin Township. Harris, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to Grove City Medical Center with apparent minor injuries.Police cited him for driving with a suspended license, driving without a motorcycle license, driving a vehicle with a suspended registration, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without insurance and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.

State Police, Mercer11:15 a.m. Monday — A pickup truck and sport utility vehicle collided on Route 258 at the Interstate 79 off-ramp in Springfield Township. A police report did not identify the drivers. No one was injured and neither vehicle needed to be towed.

State Police, New Castle12:30 a.m. Friday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Tanya R. Dimaggio, no age given, of Ellwood City struck a mailbox and post along HogueRoad in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. Police said she fled without notifying anyone of the crash.
