State Police, Butler7:23 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Chelsea L. Ringler, 21, of Butler crashed along New Castle Road in Franklin Township. Police said Ringler lost control of her car when she attempted to switch lanes as another vehicle was merging onto the road. Ringler was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. She was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.10:40 a.m. Tuesday — A Jeep driven by Gregory R. Stephans, 61, of Monroeville collided with a car driven by Kathryn C. Gilkey, 64, of Butler at the intersection of North Pike Road and Neupert Road in Jefferson Township. Police said Stephans drove through a red light and struck Gilkey’s car, causing it to roll onto its roof then onto its passenger side. Gilkey was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. Stephans was cited for a traffic signal violation.10:13 a.m. Aug. 31 — Michael C. Ahrens, 23, of Butler was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana following an incident on Pittsburgh Road in Middlesex Township.12:01 a.m. Aug. 26 — Police are investigating an alleged theft of a firearm from a motor vehicle along Manor Hill Drive in Center Township.6:15 a.m. Aug. 22 — Christopher P. Schaffner, 20, of Butler was charged with DUI after he parked his car on Route 268 in Fairview Township and fell asleep.1:16 a.m. July 8 — Brian Kennedy, 21, of Evans City was charged with DUI following a traffic stop along Route 8 in Center Township.

State Police, Mercer1:35 a.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Ronald E. Shumate, 46, of Grove City crashed into four grave stone markers and a cemetery sign along Cranberry Road at its intersection with North Broad Street Extension in Pine Township, Mercer County. Police said Shumate did not stop at the intersection and crashed over the curb onto the property. He was cited with a stop sign violation.

State Police, Kittanning1:56 p.m. Wednesday — Justin D. Brown, 26, of Monroeville and Amy D. Livergood, 37, of Clearfield, Clearfield County, were arrested after police found numerous controlled substances in their car following a traffic stop at the intersection of routes 28 and 422 in East Franklin Township, Armstrong County. Police said Brown also had existing warrants. Both were placed in Armstrong County Jail.2:32 p.m. Aug. 26 — Police said a piece of a tree fell out of a large hay truck and struck a vehicle driven by Heather M. Harvey, 37, of Ford City along Bunker Hill Road in North Buffalo Township, Armstrong County. Police said the five-foot long log hit the front driver’s side of Harvey’s vehicle, causing a flat tire. The blue hay truck drove away from the scene.
