Butler Police1:20 p.m. Wednesday — Two men were injured when the motorcycle they were riding collided with a sport utility vehicle at East Wayne and McKean streets. The men, whose names were not immediately available, were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. The SUV driver was not injured.Wednesday — Police charged Deanna L. Kranbacher, 42, of Butler Township with driving under the influence stemming from a wreck last month in the 200 block of Roosevelt Boulevard.Kranbacher was driving a 2006 Hummer shortly before 10 p.m. July 31 that struck two parked vehicles, according to court documents. Officers got there and found the suspect’s Hummer sideways on the road and into a side of a van.Police said they smelled a “strong odor” of alcohol on her breath. She failed field sobriety tests and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Results later showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.291 percent, more than three times the state’s 0.08 percent legal limit.7:42 p.m. Monday — Devin J. Melanson, 22, of Butler was caught with suspected drugs and other contraband after he was arrested on a warrant on West New Castle Street.Officers initially came upon Melanson charging his cell phone from a utility pole breaker box at Urban Park, according to court documents. When officers identified him they learned he was wanted on a warrant.A search of his wallet turned up one stamp bag and eight empty bags of suspected heroin. Police said they found two pills of oxymorphone hydrochloride, a narcotic painkiller, wrapped in cellophane in his pants pocket.Melanson also was carrying a bag that contained six syringes, a marijuana pipe and spoon. He is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and a lone count of possession of drug paraphernalia.He was placed in the Butler County Prison on the warrant.

Butler Twp PoliceWednesday — Robert Kotch, 50, of Renfrew was charged in what police described as a “mild road rage” incident earlier this month at a store at the Butler Commons shopping plaza.Kotch allegedly slapped another motorist, a 42-year-old Butler man, in the Walmart parking lot. He was cited for a summary charge of harassment.Monday — James P. Secreet Jr., 30, of McDonald, Washington County, was arrested on a felony charge for allegedly shoplifting merchandise July 7 at the Sheetz store on Evans City Road.Secreet, who has six prior shoplifting convictions, court records showed, was arraigned on a count of retail theft and later released on his own recognizance.2:15 p.m. Sunday — One person was hurt in a three-vehicle wreck at New Castle and North Duffy roads. Tina Flinn, 50, of Slippery Rock, one of the drivers, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries.A vehicle driven by Julie K. Myers, 41, of Harrisville was turning when it struck Flinn’s car. The collision forced Flinn’s car into a vehicle driven by Cindy Webreck, 65, of Butler, which was stopped at a red light. Police cited Myers for making an improper left turn.12:34 p.m. Sunday — Vehicles driven by Barbara J. Gibson, 88, of Butler and Scott Kaltenbach, 24, of Evans City collided at Whitestown and Meridian roads. Police cited Gibson for making an improper left turn.

Grove City PoliceSunday — An unknown thief stole $3 and a box of cigars from an unlocked vehicle in the 400 block of North Center Street. The theft happened sometime over the weekend.Sunday — A rechargeable drill was found in the area of West Poplar Street and Stewart Avenue. The property can be claimed at the police station at 337 E. Pine St.
