7:52 p.m. Tuesday — Erica A. Vidmar, 28, of Butler was arrested after allegedly biting a police officer responding to a domestic dispute on West Jefferson Street.Police said the altercation started after Vidmar slapped her boyfriend, 30-year-old Johnny D. Cox, at his apartment in the 100 block of West Jefferson Street. Cox told police that he went outside to get away from the defendant.But Vidmar followed him out and a short time later bit his right upper arm as he sat in a car, according to a police report. The bite left a bruise and teeth marks on Cox's arm, police noted.After police were called to the dispute and while talking to Cox, the defendant “came charging at” the alleged victim, but an officer stopped her, the report said.While trying to handcuff Vidmar, she bit the officer's left hand that he was using to hold the woman. The bite left marks on the officer's hand.The officer said he had to strike the suspect in the face “to get her to stop biting me,” the report said. She eventually was taken to the ground and handcuffed but not before struggling and bending back the officer's right thumb.Vidmar was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault on a police officer, simple assault and resisting arrest. She is in the Butler County Prison on $25,000 bail.Friday — Ricki Lee Double, 30, of Butler was arrested on charges she stole a wallet from a Good Samaritan who had just given the suspect a ride June 22. Double later used the victim's credit card to buy nearly $700 in merchandise from a Butler Township store, according to court documents.The suspect just before 9 p.m. June 22 flagged down the Good Samaritan, who was driving on North McKean Street. Double asked for a ride to her aunt's house near the Emily Brittain School on North Washington Street. The victim agreed.Afterward and back at her house, the victim checked her purse, which had been in the car when she gave Double the ride. She found her wallet missing. But before she could cancel her credit cards, one of them had been used three times at the Target store at Butler Commons. The theft totaled $675.81, police said.On June 25, police reviewed store surveillance video, documents said, which showed Double using the victim's credit card and signing for each of the three fraudulent transactions.Police obtained an arrest warrant for the defendant, who was picked up about 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Kmart store at Pullman Square. Police searched her and found a used syringe, an empty stamp bag of suspected heroin and two crack pipes.She also had a laptop computer in its original manufacturer's box. Double claimed she was holding the computer for a man, whose name she didn't know, court documents said.Police later checked the computer's serial number and found that it had been reported stolen May 21.Double was arraigned on three counts of forgery and charges of access device fraud, theft, receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is in the Butler County Prison on $30,000 bail.

12:51 a.m. Wednesday — Two men face drug charges after a traffic stop on Whitestown Road. Police said they stopped the car driven by Jack Bollinger III, 45, of Butler for having a loud muffler.Officers searched his vehicle and found an empty stamp bag of suspected heroin inside a cigarette pack.Bollinger was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without insurance and driving a vehicle with a faulty exhaust system.Jason Gettman, 35, of Zelienople, a passenger in the car, is accused of giving police a bogus name when they initially questioned him.Officers eventually learned his identify and found that he was wanted by the Butler County Sheriff's Office on a bench warrant and by Zelienople police on two arrest warrants.Gettman was arrested and searched. Police said they found a stamp bag of suspected heroin inside the cover of his cell phone. Additionally, officers turned up an empty Subxone package inside his pocket, a police report said.Gettman is charged with obstructing the administration of law, identity theft, false identification to police and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on the warrants.Wednesday — Police reported numerous vehicle ransackings in the township's Highfield area. Residents are reminded to lock their vehicles and not to leave any valuables in their vehicles.Wednesday — An unknown suspect hurled eggs at homes on several roads including Acre Avenue, Charles Drive, Eberhart Road and Route 68. The “eggings” happened during the early morning. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.1:49 p.m. Tuesday — Laurie A. Russo, 47 of Distant, Armstrong County, was arrested after she was caught allegedly shoplifting $10 worth of merchandise at the Walmart at Butler Commons.A repeat offender, Russo was arraigned on a charge of felony retail theft and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.

6:05 a.m. Wednesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Daniel M. Swidzinski, 60, of West Sunbury struck and sheared off a utility pole along Route 8 in Clay Township. Swidzinski told police he lost control of his vehicle when he fell asleep. Police said he was cited for a lane violation.11:29 p.m. Saturday — Richard J. Wagner, 19, of West Sunbury was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 8 at Mahood Road in Center Township. Police said that in addition to DUI, Wagner faces charges of resisting arrests and several traffic violations.June 22 — A global positioning system unit valued at $340 was stolen from a 35-year-old man's locked vehicle on Mitchell Hill Road in Summit Township. The vehicle sustained an estimated $50 in damage The theft happened between midnight and 9 a.m.June 20 — A 41-year-old woman told police that someone between midnight and 6 a.m. stole $400 that was in her vehicle on Butler Street in Saxonburg.3:15 a.m. June 12 — An undisclosed amount of money was stolen from the golf ball dispensing machine during a burglary at the Victory Road Driving Range in Clinton Township. Police said the burglar caused about $750 worth of damage to a garage door while breaking into the business at Route 228 and Victory Road.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.

June 25 — Dakota J. Emery, 18, was arrested at his Springfield Township home stemming from a June 20 altercation with Skylar L. Hartsock, 21, of Grove City over a firearm that Emery previously had given Hartsock.A day earlier, Hermitage police had confiscated the gun after stopping Hartsock for a traffic violation. Police took the gun because Hartsock did not have a concealed carry permit, according to court documents.Hartsock was arrested and arraigned on charges of carrying a gun without a permit, three counts of possessing drug paraphernalia, and for driving without working rear lights. He was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.About 7 p.m. June 20, he went to Emery's home and told Emery that the gun had been confiscated. Emery “became enraged,” according to a police report, and attacked Hartsock with an expandable police-style baton.Emery also allegedly threatened to shoot Hartsock.Later, police learned the gun that Hermitage police confiscated had been stolen in a May 3 burglary at an Old Ash Stop home. The homeowner apparently had not discovered the gun missing until after the June 19 traffic stop.Police on June 24 obtained an arrest warrant for Emery. He was arrested and arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, terroristic threats, intimidation of a witness, simple assault, illegal possession of a firearm and receiving stolen property. He is free on $25,000 bail.

Noon Tuesday — Anthony L. Cirelli, 23, of Portersville allegedly broke a 20-year-old New Castle woman's cell phone during a dispute on Route 488 near Heinz Camp Road in Perry Township. Police cited Cirelli for harassment and criminal mischief.
