9:38 p.m. Thursday — Christopher Klink, 25, of Butler was arrested for allegedly violating a protection from abuse order after an altercation at his father's apartment on South Washington Street. Klink was placed in Butler County Prison on $1,000 bail for the protection from abuse violation.

2:25 a.m. Thursday — Jordan Atkison, 21, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence following a one-vehicle accident on Old Plank Road near Litman Road. In addition to DUI, Atkison is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and careless driving.12:18 a.m. Thursday — Jeffry Miles, 41, of New Castle was charged with theft after a customer at Frisco's at the Days Inn on Route 8 South reported her wallet missing. A 16-year-old also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with the investigation.4:30 p.m. Wednesday — Someone stole, for a second time, hunting ladder stands and climbing sticks belonging to a Butler resident who leases a wooded area on Decatur Drive near Butler County Community College. Anyone with information should call police at 724-285-9600.

Wednesday — A home in the 200 block of Clearfield Road in Winfield Township was reportedly burglarized between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.Monday — A vandal smashed two business signs at the front of the Trader Horn and J.M. Beatty Furniture stores on Route 38 in Washington Township. The vandalism occurred between 2 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday.Oct. 30 — Three Slippery Rock High School students face drug- and theft-related charges stemming from an incident that caused school officials to lock down the school in Slippery Rock Township.Police said one of the students stole prescription medication from a Slippery Rock man and took it to school. That student gave the medication to two other students. Once school authorities became aware of what happened, they locked down the facility for safety until the investigation was completed.The suspects, who police did not identify, face varying charges in juvenile court, including possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, theft, receiving stolen property and disorderly conduct.

10:47 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Philip A. Minteer, 34, of Kittanning rolled onto its roof after crashing on a hillside on Route 28 about one mile south of Route 422 in North Buffalo Township. Minteer faces tickets for not staying in his lane and for driving with worn tires.
