Three years ago I moved back and it was not as "homey." I would like to get to know the people of Chicora better and bring them together. I would like to serve in a capacity that motivates the town's people to get involved by organizing more town-oriented events and by getting involved with the youth.STEIGHNER: Being a resident of Chicora for more than 36 years and serving as mayor for more than 25 years, I like being a part of what makes this town run, making a difference. I intend to continue supporting the Chicora Council in keeping things in order and running smoothly. I will do what I can to continue to keep the pulse of this town as it has been, a great community to raise a family.QUESTION: What are the top three issues facing your municipality and what actions would you propose?NAGY: 1. Chicora is not seeing growth in its economy. I propose that by spotlighting it as an attractive, interesting, history-filled town, both businesses, and people in general will be attracted to it. This will help to make Chicora more visitor and entrepreneur-friendly.2. There is a lack of activities for the town's youth and it is a growing issue. Taking interest in this demographic is key.3. There is a lack of pride and stewardship in Chicora, and by doing some of the above, I intend to help build a stronger sense of importance and ownership.STEIGHNER: Street repairs and water repairsActions Proposed: Apply for grant monies
