Monday — Police filed 11 felony counts of access device fraud against 21-year-old Madalyn P. Somple of Butler, who is accused of stealing more than $1,400 from her mother's credit union account.Somple's mother, 43-year-old Teresa Celestin, went to police Thursday after discovering 11 unauthorized debit card transactions on her account between June 8 and July 4. She suspected her daughter, who lives with Celestin, according to court documents.The transactions — totaling $1,419.50 in withdrawals and fees — were made at four automated teller machines on West Jefferson, Pillow and North Main streets and New Castle Road.Police reviewed video surveillance from one of the ATMs and saw Somple making at least one of the withdrawals.Investigators on Friday spoke to Somple at the Butler County Prison, where she was being held on probation violations. She admitted she took her mother's debit card and used it 11 times.Monday — A city parks department employee found a golf bag with a set of clubs at Memorial Park. The owner can claim the property at the police station.2:25 p.m. Friday — A 10-year-old boy hurt himself when he accidentally ran into the side of a car stopped on East Brady Street. The boy, who was not identified in a police report, complained of an elbow injury.Friday — Kayla M. Guthrie, 21, of Lyndora was arrested on charges stemming from a Feb. 18 controlled drug buy in Butler.Guthrie is accused of accepting $50 from an undercover officer with the promise of providing two stamp bags of heroin, according to court documents.Police said an unknown man later delivered the heroin. Guthrie was arraigned on a charge of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $20,000 bail.

2:10 a.m. Monday — Jeremy Pennington, 33, of Parker was arrested on charges that he hit a woman during a domestic dispute at the Super 8 motel on Route 8 South. Pennington is charged with simple assault and harassment.1:43 a.m. Saturday — Seven youths were cited for underage drinking after police were called to a Woodrow Street home in Lyndora for a complaint of loud music. Police did not identify the juveniles.

Saturday — Fifty-two vehicles were stopped and seven people arrested for underage drinking during DUI details Friday and Saturday.In all, 16 traffic citations and 26 warnings were issued. Police also nabbed one person wanted on a warrant.

Monday — Police are seeking the public's help in finding a man who assaulted a teenage driver after a June 30 crash in Clearfield Township.The victim, an 18-year-old boy from Fenelton, was southbound on Clearfield Road in a 1995 Chevrolet Blazer about 11:25 a.m. when a white man driving a maroon minivan passed his Blazer.Police said the driver of the van, which possibly had a tow hitch, swerved in front of the teen's sport utility vehicle and then slammed on his brakes. The Blazer hit the rear of the van.The teen told police that after he and the suspect stopped their vehicles, the other man assaulted him and then drove away, headed south on Clearfield Road.Anyone with information about the suspect or his minivan is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.Sunday — Nearly $250 in currency and coins was stolen in a burglary between July 5 and Sunday at an Apricot Lane home in Summit Township. A door at the home also sustained minor damage in the break-in.Sunday — No items were taken during a burglary between Friday and Sunday at a home on Cornplanter Road in Winfield Township. A garage door was broken in the break-in.July 3 — A thief stole a stove and refrigerator from a home on Chicora Road in Oakland Township. Police said they have a suspect in the theft, which is still under investigation.June 25 — Someone stole $60 from the wallet of a 72-year-old woman at her Redbud Road home in Fairview Township.June 17 — Craig Allen Sykes, 47, of Lower Burrell, Westmoreland County, was arrested for driving under the influence at Route 256 and Saxonburg Road in Butler Township.In addition to DUI, Sykes is charged with driving with a suspended license, careless driving and not wearing a seat belt.

3:40 a.m. Sunday — Jesse C. Burke, 21, of Worthington was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his pickup truck struck a parked car and a house on Wattersonvile Road about two-tenths of a mile north of Route 268 in Sugarcreek Township.No one was hurt but the front porch of the house sustained severe damage. The car had only minor damage.5:10 p.m. Saturday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Heather S. Dosch, 30, of Templeton struck a guardrail on Route 422 in Kittanning. Police said Dosch was cited for a lane violation.
