Karns City High touts achievement
KARNS CITY— Karns City High School is participating in a program to promote academic achievement.
Sugar Creek Rest and Chicora Medical Center launched The Challenge Program 2008 at the school. Up to four senior high students in grades 10 to 12 will earn checks for $250 each by participating.
In presenting the program to students, Susie Tack-Beardsley of Sugar Creek Rest spoke about the importance of achieving success academically and becoming involved in the community while citing the relevance of these qualities to future employers.
Sophomores, juniors and seniors will compete to earn a $250 award in one of four categories: most improved, best attendance, most community service and best overall senior grade point average.
Sugar Creek Rest and the Chicora Medical Center will underwrite the cost of The Challenge Program at Karns City High.
Freeport High School plans to have an assembly this month to start the program there.
