Graduations will adhere to safety measures at SRU
More than 1,500 students will graduate from Slippery Rock University this weekend.
The volume of students, both undergraduate and graduate, who applied for graduation this year caused the university to schedule five commencement ceremonies to properly provide pandemic-protecting space for graduates and their attendees.
The ceremony for graduate studies will be at 6 p.m. Friday. Ceremonies for Saturday include the College of Education, 9 a.m.; the College of Business, noon; the College of Liberal Arts, 3 p.m.; and the College of Health, Engineering and Science, 6 p.m.
All ceremonies will be conducted at SRU’s Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
SRU mailed letters to every student who applied for graduation to notify them of procedural policies for the ceremonies. They also received two tickets for guests to attend.
