Grace L. Gross Measel, 82, of Zelienople died peacefully Sunday at UPMC Passavant Hospital, McCandless Township.

Born Dec. 22, 1926, in Zelienople, she was the daughter of the late Oliver Earl and Margaret Irene (Langhurst) Rosenstiel.

Mrs. Measel was a life member of the English Lutheran Church, Zelienople, and a member of the Zelienople Historical Society, the Country Campers in Middle Lancaster and the Allegro Camping Group.

She retired as a school nurse from the Seneca Valley School District after more than 30 years.

She enjoyed traveling, both at home and abroad, during which she visited with family and friends. She also enjoyed playing cards and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Dean H. Measel, whom she married May 1, 1999; a son, Kenneth R. "K.R." Gross and his wife, Gail, of Harmony; two stepchildren, George C. Measel and his wife, Sally, of Middle Lancaster and Carol Moser and her husband, Howard, of Glenshaw; a sister, Marlyn Donaldson of New Sewickley Township; two grandchildren, Madison and Spencer Gross; five step-grandchildren, Ryan (Megan) Moser, Kenneth Moser, Karen Moser, Andrew Measel, and Wendy (Shawn) McLaughlin; and two step-great-grandchildren, Morgan and Joshua Dean McLaughlin. Also surviving are a niece, Amy (Donaldson) Schoeffel and her husband, Timothy, of Evans City; and a great-niece, Emily Schoeffel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth E. Gross, who died Jan. 20, 1985.

<B>MEASEL</B> — Friends of Grace L. Gross Measel, who died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at the English Lutheran Church Cemetery, Zelienople.Memorial donations may be made to the Zelienople Historical Society, 243 S.
