Dufford

Margaret Jean “Peg” Dufford, 90, of Valencia, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026.

Born April 16, 1936, in Mars, she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Genevieve Rohr Hutchman.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Diane (Kevin) Schardt, Denise (Rob) McSorley, Dayne (Christine) Dufford, Duane Dufford and Daryle (Lynn) Dufford; her grandchildren, Erik (Amanda) Schardt, Lindsey (Alex) Kaduck, Angela (Alan) Enciso, Hugh (Jessica) McSorley, Hayden McSorley, Heath McSorley, Vanessa Dufford, Jacob (Karina) Dufford and Brooke Dufford; her great-grandchildren, Lukas and Brody Schardt, Alexander Enciso, Amelia and Murphy Kaduck, and Carter and Camden McSorley; and her sister, Charlene Sedoris.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, George A. Dufford, and her brother, Robert Fritz.

Peg enjoyed puzzles and weekend adventures at casinos near and far with family and friends. She was a huge Pittsburgh Pirates, Penguins and Steelers fan. She thoroughly enjoyed NASCAR racing and despised Joey Lagano.

Peg especially cherished receiving pictures and videos of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which always brought her immense joy.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at St. Barnabas Memory Care Unit for their wonderful care of Margaret.

DUFFORD — Friends and family of Margaret Jean “Peg” Dufford, who died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026, will be received from 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.

Margaret will be laid to rest at Mars Cemetery.
