JEFFERSON TWP — Those of retirement age with an interest in learning are invited to attend classes being scheduled for 2019 through Concordia Institute for Lifelong Learning in cooperation with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Pittsburgh. Several classes are offered free to the community.

In addition, Concordia is partnered with SilverSneakers by Tivity Health to provide yoga and the cardio classic fitness classes.

CRANBERRY TWP — The Cranberry Library Public Library, 2225 Rochester Road, is offering free computer classes beginning Jan. 5.

Classes, which last about 90 minutes to two hours, will begin at 9 a.m. Saturdays in the library computer lab

[naviga:h3]Council sponsors Santa breakfast [/naviga:h3]

ADAMS TWP — The Mars High School Student Council will sponsor a “Breakfast with Santa” event from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Dec. 15, in the school’s cafeteria.

The free event, open to children ages 10 and younger, will include pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus, a holiday movie, crafts, refreshments and more. Milk and cookies will be available.

[naviga:h3]Menorah lighting set for Sunday[/naviga:h3]

CRANBERRY TWP — The Area Jewish Association invites the public to an outdoor lighting of a giant menorah in front of the Cranberry Township Municipal Center, 2525 Rochester Road, Sunday.

Live entertainment begins at 4 p.m. and there will be traditional food and games as well as music. The menorah lighting itself takes place at 5:30 p.m.

Friends of every faith and corner of Butler County will mark the eighth and final night of Hanukkah.

Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 East Jefferson St., will have its cookie walk sale beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday.

The public should use the Cliff Street entrance.

[naviga:h3]Christmas event slated at church[/naviga:h3]

On Dec. 16 Christ Community United Methodist Church 205 North Duffy Road will have Christmas Happenings from 3 to 5 p.m.

There will be crafts, story time, nativity set displays, a Christmas play, a cookie reception and pictures with Santa.

This is a community event. All are invited.
