Fellow Pennsylvanian needed for senate
After reading the article in Wednesday’s Butler Eagle, “Millions spent in U.S. Senate race in Pa,” I felt the need to reply.
My first thought was, why would two extraordinarily wealthy men — one a famous heart surgeon/television personality, the other a former hedge fund CEO — want to be senators? I assume the answer is power. They have everything else!
One says he was born and raised in Pennsylvania. The other one was born in Cleveland. Neither one has lived in Pa. for many years (if at all).
I’m just an average, retired Pennsylvania resident who is trying to grasp how either of these men can understand how we here in Pennsylvania live, think and work. We are hardworking farmers, steel workers, teachers, nurses, oil producers, miners, small business owners, etc.
Please take your millions and run for the Senate in your own states. Allow us to have representatives that know us and know what we need and want. Pennsylvania needs people who are looking to contribute to their neighbors and fellow Pennsylvanians — not to gain power and more prestige for themselves.
