Butler vo-tech gets $20,700 grant
The Butler County Area Vocational-Technical School will receive a $20,700 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Education, according to state Rep. Marci Mustello, R-11th.
The Career and Technical Education Equipment grant is for the purchase of new equipment to train students in high-demand occupations. In addition, the grant is to purchase equipment aligned with the needs of local employers for use in department-approved Career and Technical Education programs and to provide hands-on training to students in those programs.
Under the program, the maximum grant is $50,000, and each grant must be matched dollar-for-dollar from a local source, which could include local school funds or contributions.
