SEVEN FIELDS — The borough will hold its seventh annual Community Days Carnival next week.

The festivities will be held in the borough park, 390 Castle Creek Drive, from Tuesday to Sept. 3.

Attractions will include rides, games and concessions provided by Bartlebaugh Amusements of Madisonburg, Pa.

The hours will be 6 to 10 p.m. for the first four days and 5 to 10 p.m. Sept. 3.

There is no cost for parking or admission, and individual tickets and weekly passes will be available for the rides.

Live music this year will include a performance by Bon Journey, a Jon Bon Jovi and Journey cover band, from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday. The five-piece band, from Pittsburgh, has played more than 400 shows since forming in 2006, according to its website.

Dancing Queen will perform from 6 to 10 p.m. Sept. 3. Based in Pittsburgh, Dancing Queen is a 1970s and 80s disco, funk and dance group.

The last day will conclude with a Pyrotecnico fireworks display at 10 p.m.

Borough manager Tom Smith said officials hope to draw crowds with this year’s musical performers.

“They have quite a following in this area, so that should bring a lot of people in to come see the bands themselves, and hopefully they will stay and come see the carnival,” he said.

The event was formerly held in June but was switched last year to the week before Labor Day.

Smith said the event has grown in popularity each year and they expect the biggest crowds on Friday and Sept. 3, as long as there is nice weather.

“We’re excited as a community that it has expanded every year, we’ve tried to build off of it,” he said.
