WEST SUNBURY — Planned guest speaker Garrett Mills is unable to direct the inspirational services this week at West Sunbury United Nazarene Church, 524 Halston Road. All events with Mills are canceled.

However, the congregation will meet for other services planned at 7 p.m. Wednesday and at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday.

[naviga:h3]Library tour, talk slated in Cranberry[/naviga:h3]

CRANBERRY TWP — Cranberry Township manager Jerry Andree and library director Leslie Pallotta will mark National Library Week with a tour and conversation about the evolving role of community libraries at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the library, 2525 Rochester Road.

The event is part of the township’s “Coffee and Conversation” series. It is free. No reservation is required but it would help for planning purposes. Call 724-776-4806, Ext. 1089.

SAXONBURG — The South Butler Community Library, 240 W. Main St., is hosting the Big Library Read, the world’s largest digital book club, until Monday.

Jennifer McGaha’s debut memoir, “Flat Broke with Two Goats,” is available in the eBook or audiobook format with no wait lists or holds.

GIBSONIA — Bakerstown United Methodist Church 5760 William Flynn Highway, will host a junque sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 28.

There will be a flea market and food for sale.

[naviga:h3]Nixon Preschool plans fundraiser[/naviga:h3]

PENN TWP — Nixon Preschool, 334 Airport Road, will sponsor a non-competitive 5K run, walk or stroll fundraiser beginning at 9 a.m. April 28 on the grounds of Nixon United Methodist Church, 334 Airport Road.

There will be a Tot Trot for children 6 and under at 10:30 a.m. There also will be an auction.

Bowling aids child advocacy

The third annual Strike Out Child Abuse to aid the Butler County Alliance for Children Child Advocacy Center will be from 1 to 4 p.m. April 29 at Family Bowlaway Fun Center, 540 Fairground Hill Road.

Participants can bowl as individuals or teams. Lanes with bumpers will be available. Each ticket will allow three hours of unlimited bowling, free bowling shoe rental, two slices of pizza and unlimited soft drinks.
