Harmony Museum raffle to boost businesses

After holding two gift card raffles earlier this year to support local restaurants, the Harmony Museum will raffle off 20 gift cards to retail stores in the nearby area in time for Christmas.

The Christmas Shopping Spree Raffle will award 11 $50 gift cards to the first-place winner, six $50 gift cards to the second-place winner and three gift cards to the third-place winner. Tickets will be drawn Nov. 21, giving winners plenty of time to finish Christmas shopping and infuse local shops with business.

“The museum was looking for a way to support local merchants during the holidays,” Gwen Lutz, museum vice president, said. “We had a generous donor offer to buy the 20 gift cards for the raffle.”

The businesses include Harmony Emporium, Dambach Lumber & Supply Co., and Harmonie Laden in Harmony; Enchanted Olive, Amy Baughman Sew & Quilt and Baldinger’s in Jackson Township; and Mussig Florist, Curio Cool and Eva Bryn Shoetique in Zelienople.

Harmony Museum’s previous raffles have also helped the museum keep up with its funding despite having to cancel many events this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to museum president Rodney Gasch.

Tickets are $5 or five tickets for $20, and can be purchased online at HarmonyMuseum.org or at the museum shop, 222 Mercer Street in Harmony.

“Buying a raffle ticket supports the Harmony Museum, helps local shops, and could take care of your holiday shopping,” Lutz said.
