STUDENT DIRECTORY

Brian Arroyo, son of Daniel and Consuelo Arroyo of Cabot, a senior at St. Joseph High School, has been selected to attend the Naval Academy Preparatory School in Newport, R.I.

By successfully completing the year-long program, Arroyo will be eligible to attend the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.

Allison Lesser, daughter of Michael and Joyce Lesser of Butler, has been accepted to Gannon University for the fall 2005 semester.

A senior at Butler High School, she plans to major in business marketing.

Midshipman Adam Dawson, son of Walter and Linda Dawson of Butler, has been selected to serve as the regimental executive officer at the Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y.

A graduate of Knoch High School, he is studying marine engineering systems at the academy.

Slippery Rock Middle School students showed they know their presidents during a competition on Jan. 12 at Slippery Rock University.

The competition, known as Mr. President, is part of the Academic Games League of America.

Kelly Dempsey, eighth grade, and her brother,

Scott Dempsey, seventh grade, won first prize during the game. They are from Portersville.

Placing fifth in the competition was a seventh grade team known as The Great Communicators. This team consisted of

Daniel Jeon of Slippery Rock,

Scott Dempsey of Portersville,

Michael Migliocca of Slippery Rock,

Matt Corner of Harrisville, and

Sam Lotz of Prospect.

Schools from Midwestern Intermediate Unit Four participated and students were divided into grade levels to compete.
