The Cranberry Township Community Chest recently presented service scholarships to Seneca Valley High School graduates
Ashley Johnson and
Catherine Bishop.Johnson, the daughter of Wayne and Laurie Johnson of Cranberry Township, received the Donna Martin Scholarship.She is a volunteer at Passavant Retirement Center and Evergreen Nursing Home and has donated time to Placid Place Ministries and the Woodlands Foundation.Johnson is a past participant in the Race for the Cure and the March of Dimes Walk America.She plans to attend Waynesburg College to study nursing.Bishop, the daughter of Robert and Lisa Bishop, received the Dave Lewis Scholarship.While in high school, she has served as an after-school tutor for elementary school students and a choreographer and dancer in several parades, musicals and recitals.A volunteer at UPMC Cranberry Place and Dutilh Bible School, she plans to attend Westminster College to pursue a degree in elementary education.---
<b>David Cox</b>, son of Dave and Sandi Cox of Evans City, was recently named a second-place scholarship winner by the Pennsylvania Angus Women's Association.A recent graduate of Butler High School, he will attend the University of Northwestern Ohio this fall to study diesel and automotive technology.---<br></br>
<b>Dannielle Spencer</b>, daughter of Dave and Carol Campbell of Cabot, and <b>Jessica Vernon</b>, daughter of Daniel and Shirley Vernon of Butler, recently participated in the Indiana (Pa.) University's summer honors program in economics.Spencer will be a senior at Knoch High School this fall.Vernon will be a junior at Butler High School this fall.---<br></br>
<b>David Zarnick Jr.</b>, son of Dave and Judy Zarnick of Butler Township, was recently granted a full scholarship to attend Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week at Lycoming College.A senior at Butler High School, he recently completed the one-week program.---
<b>Christopher Brennan</b> and <b>Charleen Trimble</b> recently participated in the five-week Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University.Brennan, the son of Robert and Marlene Brennan of Harmony, is a student at Seneca Valley High School.Trimble, a student at Knoch High School, is the daughter of Neal and Elizabeth Trimble of Sarver.---
<b>Rebecca Dickey</b> of Harmony, daughter of Allen and Josie Dickey of Baden and Jeff and Diane Smith of Harmony, recently received a four-year United States Marine Corps ROTC scholarship to Penn State University.A 2005 Seneca Valley High School graduate, she plans to major in political science and military science.While in high school, she was a member of the National Honor Society, received a four-year scholar athlete award, served as crew team captain and lettered in track and diving.---
<b>Matthew Scarborough</b> of Evans City was recently awarded the Bonnie Jane Kester Scholarship for engineering students at the University of Wyoming.---
<b>Jessica Riggs</b> of Slippery Rock has been accepted to Drexel University for the fall 2005 term.She plans to major in English.---
