Chiara Laconi of Butler has been accepted to a study abroad program at the Universidad de Alcala in Madrid, Spain, for the spring semester.A junior Spanish education and social work major at Slippery Rock University, she will study the history and culture of Spain.Laconi is a 2003 graduate of Butler High School.———

Members of the <b>Future Business Leaders of America</b> at Butler High School recently attended a regional competition.A first place prize went to <b>Beth Ristity</b> for Accounting II.Third place awards were presented to <b>Matthew Fry</b> for C++ Programming, <b>Kara Isaacs</b> for Computer Applications and <b>Theodore Mitch</b> for the Business Procedures category.Fourth, fifth and sixth places went to <b>Katie Pierce </b>or Computer Applications, <b>Keith Jenkins</b> for Accounting I and <b>Christopher Palace</b> for Business Procedures, respectively.
