Justin Geibel, son of Robin and Stella Geibel of Butler, has been awarded the University Scholar Award at the University of Pittsburgh for being among the top 2 percent of his class in engineering.A 2002 graduate of Butler High School, he was recognized during the University's Annual Honors Convocation held in February.——
Two local students have been selected to participate in the state-level of the America's Homecoming Queen Pageant to be held March 25 and 26 in Lancaster.<B>Haley McFeaters </B>of Moniteau High School and <B>Shawna Hart </B>of Slippery Rock High School will compete for the title of Pennsylvania's 2006 Homecoming Queen.High school homecoming queens are chosen for the pageant based on an application process. Winners will receive a cash scholarship and paid entry to the national finals.——
<B>Kimberly Fisher</B>, daughter of Robert Jr. and Marlene Fisher of Butler, has been accepted to Edinboro University for the fall 2006 semester.A senior at Butler High School, she is a member of the National Honors Society, Spanish Club and the Golden Tornado Marching Band, where she plays the baritone.Fisher plans to major in nursing.——
<B>Michelle Riemer</B> of Renfrew, daughter of Tim Riemer and Joyce Mutterer, has been accepted to Edinboro University for the fall, 2006 semester.Asenior at Knoch High School, she's the captain of the varsity cheerleading squad and participates in track, the Class Cabinet and school musicals.Riemer plans to major in Nursing.——
<B>Holly Boyce</B>, daughter of Mark and Kim Boyce of Butler Township, was recently recognized for achievement in Mathematics and history and government by the United States Achievement Academy.Boyce is a student at Portersville Christian School.——
<B>Catherine Spafford</B>, daughter of Jim and Jean Spafford of Chicora, has been inducted into the Phi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society at Allegheny College.A 2004 graduate of Karns City High School and 2004 Butler County Junior Miss, she is majoring in political science.——
<B>Haley Libecco</B>, daughter of Philip and Pam Libecco of Karns City, has been selected as a state finalist in the Miss Cheerleader of America program to be held April 8 and 9 in Pittsburgh.A senior at Karns City High School, she will compete for the state level scholarship award and other prizes.
