Ashley Cetnar, daughter of Robin and Joy Cetnar of Butler, has been accepted to the Naval Academy's week-long summer program in Annapolis, Md., which introduces students to Naval Academy Education.She is ajunior at Knoch High School.———

<B>Theresa Mullan</B>, daughter of Edward and Donna Mullan of Slippery Rock, is one of 10 students nationwide who have been selected to participate in research in the microbiology department at the University of Texas at Houston Medical Center's cancer center.A2003 graduate of Slippery Rock High school, she is a junior at Mercyhurst College.———

<B>Crystal Young</B>, daughter of Gary and Debra Young of Butler, has been named the recipient of the College Chemistry Award by the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh.A senior chemistry and Spanish major at Washington and Jefferson College, she will be recognized with a monetary award presented to her college library in her honor.———

<B>Ryan Koch</B>, was one of two students recently named Most Promising Freshman Leaders at Northwood University.He is the son of Kent and Anne Koch of Harmony.———

Edinboro University has announced that <B>Thomas Austin</B>, a graduate of Slippery Rock High School, is the recipient of the Thomas Stanko "On Special Assignment" Scholarship for second semester freshmen.———

<B>Eli Terwilliger </B>of Parker, son of Eric and Kelly Terwilliger, has been accepted to Baldwin Wallace College for the fall 2006 term.A senior at Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School, he is active in marching band, concert band, choir, National Honor Society, drama club, and pep band. He has also participated in district and regional band and choir and all-state chorus.Terwilliger plans to major in music education.———

<B>Amanda Bearrow</B>, daughter of James and Cindy Bearrow of Valencia, has been inducted into the Kappa Delta Pi education honor society at Westminster College.Asophomore elementary education major, she is a graduate of Mars High School.———

<B>Megan Fair</B>, daughter of Edward and Karen Fair of Butler was recently awarded a full scholastic scholarship for the upcoming academic year, at the University of Utah.The scholarship was awarded by the Art History department.Fair is pursuing a degree in Modern Dance and an Honors degree in Art History.While at Utah, Megan has been involved in student dance concerts, senior dance concerts, the university production of the opera "The Bartered Bride"and a guest artist dance production. She was co-producer of the 2005-06 Student Concert Season. She is also a member of Orchesis. Megan also is a volunteer at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. This summer, Megan will be serving an internship at The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh.———

<B>Kathryn Gerberich</B> of Butler, a student in the Western Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School, has been awarded a 2006 Horatio Alger Pennsylvania Scholarship worth $2,500.———

<b>Brandon Dunmyre</b>, son of Bruce and Kathleen Dunmyre of Sarver, has been accepted to Gannon University for the fall 2006 semester.A senior at Freeport High School, he plans to major in pre-medicine.———

<B>Janelle Reed</B>, daughter of Donald and Marjory Reed of Fenelton, is a recipient of a community service award from the Indiana (Pa.) University office of service learning.A 2004 graduate of Butler High School, she is majoring in respiratory care at IUP.Reed volunteered for Into the Streets, a national initiative to encourage integration between universities and surrounding communities. Her project entailed cleaning up and planting vegetables in the local nursing home's garden area. She has also served the community through volunteering at bingo at a nursing home, walking dogs for the Indiana County Humane Society and blood drives. Reed is a member of Delta Tau Sigma and the Residence Hall Association. She also serves as a Residence Hall Council adviser.
