3:48 a.m. Wednesday — Randall T. Kelley, 18, no known address, was arrested after he allegedly broke into a vehicle on Eau Claire Street. Kelley is accused of giving a bogus name to officers before he took off running. Police, however, chased him down, catching him in a yard on East Jefferson Street.Kelley, who also was wanted on an unrelated bench warrant, was arraigned on charges of resisting arrest and giving false identification to police. He is in Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail.
5:40 p.m. Tuesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Leslie Carcaise, 57, of New Castle rear-ended a car on New Castle Road at the Route 422 on-ramp. Paula Lesney, 58, of Butler was driving the car.5:12 p.m. Eric J. Whisel, 18, of New Castle lost control of his car and crashed into a traffic sign on Route 422 at the Route 356 south exit ramp.
11:45 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Justin A. Hevesy, 22, traveled over an embankment and struck two trees after sliding off slush-covered Route 308 in Clay Township. Police said Hevesy was cited for driving too fast for conditions.8:04 p.m. Tuesday — Maryann Cooper, 69, of Boyers was hurt when she lost control of her pickup truck and hit an embankment on Windy Point in Marion Township. Cooper, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.Tuesday — An arrest warrant was issued for Elizabeth A. Cosme, 33, of Butler stemming from a suspected drug deal last year in Butler.Following a cell phone call to set up the deal, according to court documents, Cosme allegedly sold a bundle of heroin and $100 in crack cocaine to a police informant in an alley between Mackey and Brugh avenues.An analysis later showed that the heroin and crack weighed 0.19 and 0.45 grams, respectively, documents said.Cosme is charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility, and two counts each of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.Feb. 1 — An unknown thief stole unspecified items worth $1,700 from a home on the 300 block of Bonniebrook Road in Summit Township. The theft happened between Sept. 1 and Feb. 1.
Tuesday — Steven P. Bure, 27, of Worthington was arrested after the car he was driving struck an embankment and rolled over onto its roof on Route 28 just northeast of Glade Run Road in North Buffalo Township. Police got there and learned Bure was wanted on an arrest warrant. He was placed in Armstrong County Jail.Additionally, according to a police report, troopers found Bure with suspected drug contraband. He faces a ticket for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Tuesday — An Emlenton man's snowboard, boots and binders, valued at $1,000, were stolen from his car at Cranberry Mall in Cranberry, Venango County. The property was taken between 11 and 7 p.m.
11:30 a.m. Wednesday — An Ohio man was arrested after he allegedly attacked two troopers at Grove City Medical Center in Pine Township.Salvatore Scavone, 47, is accused of punching one trooper in the face and shoving the other one to the ground while attempting to flee the hospital. A police report did not indicate the reason Scavone was at the hospital.The suspect was subdued and arrested. Later placed in Mercer County Jail, Scavone is charged with aggravated assault on police, simple assault and harassment.
