James W. Kyle
James W. Kyle, 79, of 566 Grove City Road, Slippery Rock, died at 12:46 a.m. Tuesday at Allegheny General Hospital after a short illness.
Born Nov. 24, 1925, in Jackson Township, he was the son of Rosco S. and Ella Kyle.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the F & A.M. Lodge 603, Grove City, and the New Castle Consistory. He was a Protestant.
Mr. Kyle was the owner and partner of Kyle's Corner Services along Grove City Road in Slippery Rock for 35 years. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and delivering fuel oil.
Surviving are his wife, Betty M. Wade Kyle, whom he married Oct. 21, 1949; a daughter, Lee Anne Gills of Great Falls, Mont.; a son and his wife, James L. and Jennifer Kyle of Mercer; a sister, Hilda Mae Eakin of Butler; a brother, Kenneth Melvin Kyle of Butler; four grandchildren, Michael Wade Kyle, James Richard Kyle, Kyle Sloan Gills, and David Gills; and a great-grandson, Nicholas Sloane Gills.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.
KYLE - Friends of James W. Kyle, who died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at theCUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City.A Masonic service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
