6:11 p.m. Tuesday — Troy A. Steffan, 39, of Butler was charged with retail theft after he allegedly tried to steal milk from Friedman's.4:05 a.m. Monday — Billie Jo Bowers, 44, of Butler was charged with possession of a firearm without a license, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of drug paraphernalia following a disturbance at the Cigarette Shop in Butler. In the same incident, Robert Best, 24, of Lyndora was arrested on a warrant out of Butler for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.12:15 p.m. Oct. 15 — Joseph E. Berquist, 32, of Butler was charged with receiving stolen property and theft by deception after he allegedly sold about $200 worth of silver coins stolen from his grandfather to at least two stores in the Butler area. Some of the coins were recovered by police.
Thursday — Someone entered a storage unit below the office at Whitestown Village Apartments, knocking items off storage shelves and damaging a light.
10 p.m. Thursday — A SUV driven by Amanda J. Kamicker, 28, of Slippery Rock and a tractor trailer driven by Dewayne E. Varner, 42, of Altoona collided on Route 422 near North Road in Franklin Township.8 p.m. Thursday — A SUV driven by Paul Fagley, 47, of Butler struck a deer on Route 68 near Goose Haven Lane in Connoquenessing Township. Fagley and his passenger, Amanda Fagley, 15, of Butler were not injured.2:27 p.m. Wednesday — Someone entered the residence at 212 Cherry Blossom Drive in Connoquenessing and stole a .22 caliber handgun belonging to Jeffrey W. Kennedy of Evans City. Anyone with information should call police at 724-284-8100.8:20 p.m. Oct. 28 — Christine A. Eakin, 28, of Eau Claire was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 38 in Eau Claire after she allegedly had an open container and drug paraphernalia in her vehicle.
10 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Holly L. Meier, 43, of Mercer crashed and rolled over on Interstate 79 in Springfield Township. Meier, who was not injured, was cited for driving on roads laned for traffic.
