The former Butler County chief clerk, who was relieved of his duties last month in a shake-up at the county government center, has found a new job where he will earn a larger salary.

Scott Andrejchak was hired Sept. 10 as the municipal manager in Penn Hills, Allegheny County. His starting salary will be $100,000. He earned $93,890 as chief clerk for Butler County.

Three county staffers will perform Andrejchak's former duties, said Leslie Osche, county commissioners chairman.

According to the Penn Hills website, the manager and his staff are responsible for budget development, personnel administration, labor relations, affirmative action, safety, municipal records and responding to citizen concerns.

“It's the opportunity of a lifetime,” Andrejchak said Friday. “Penn Hills has a lot of potential, and it's a great place to visit and live in.”

He is in the process of moving from Butler County to Penn Hills, as required by that municipality.

“Coming back to the Pittsburgh area is something I wanted to do,” Andrejchak said.

He is looking forward to serving the residents of Penn Hills.

“There are a lot of wonderful people,” Andrejchak said of his new borough. “I've met so many good people already.”

Andrejchak also served as the city manager for five years in Sharon, Mercer County, and for two years in Greenville, which is also in Mercer County.

He began his career in Clairton, Allegheny County, as financial director for a decade.

Andrejchak starts at Penn Hills Monday.

“I'm really excited about it,” Andrejchak said. “Everything I've done at the local and county levels has prepared me for this opportunity and I really feel I can be an asset to Penn Hills.”
