Lions Fall Tour aids communityThe Butler Lions Club will launch its fall product sale tour with displays in area neighborhoods beginning Sept. 14 and continuing every Saturday through Oct. 19.Residents will be able to buy cleaning products including garbage bags, brooms, cleaning cloths and fire starters.Proceeds are earmarked for community needs including foodbanks, eyeglasses for visually impaired and juvenile diabetes education.Times and locations are:9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sept. 14, Meadowood entrance, McQuiston Road9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sept. 21, Windward Heights, West Sunbury Road9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 28, Arc Crafts Show, Tanglewood Center, 10 Austin Ave., Lyndora9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 5, Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 12, Timberly Heights entrance, 492 Sunset Drive9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 19, Spencer Geibel Funeral Home parking lot, 140 New Castle Road.

Night disc golf set at Alameda The Butler Parks and Recreation Department announced night disc golf Sept. 23 will begin at 9:15 p.m. at the Masonic Shelter at Alameda Park, 184 Alameda Park Road.Check-in is from 8:30 to 9 p.m. followed by a short players' meeting and then tee-off at 9:15 p.m.For more information, call the department at 724-284-5383.

Baby sitter course offered in AdamsADAMS TWP — The Butler Parks and Recreation Department will conduct a Safe Sitter Babysitter's Training Class from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Adams Township Municipal Bulding, 690 Valencia Road.The class is for sitters age 11 to 15 and covers prevention, safety, responsibility, leadership and professionalism.
