SUMMIT TWP — Two runaways were caught Thursday afternoon after a short-lived escape from the Summit Academy reform school, authorities said.

Both teens were nabbed about 2:10 p.m., a little more than an hour after they reportedly left the facility on Herman Road in Summit Township.

At about 1 p.m., the school sent out a text notification that the students escaped. The text alert suggested nearby residents lock their doors and cars, and to not interact with the students.

State police issued a be-on-the-lookout advisory at 1:13 p.m., with a description of the students — a 19-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy.

Summit Academy released no other information and police did not immediately return a call.
