CABOT — Cabot United Methodist Church, 707 Winfield Road, will host its annual Pumpkin Party from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 18 for children age 12 and younger.

There will be trick or treating as well as fall crafts and autumn activities. Non-scary costumes are encouraged.

RSVPs are appreciated but not necessary.

An auction set to begin at 6 p.m. Oct. 25 in the Herman Fire Hall, 789 Herman Road, will benefit the Butler Wesleyan Academy.Antique furniture, toys, decorations, Steelers items and antique hand garden/yard tools are among the items to be auctioned. All purchases are cash only.Donations are being accepted Oct. 24 and 25 at the fire hall.There will also be theme baskets, a bake sale and food available for purchase.

The annual “Friends of the Poor Walk for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul” will be Saturday.Walkers will meet in the upper parking lot of the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank, 157 Elm St., at 11 a.m. for the walk up Brady Street to Main Street to the courthouse, then across Main Street to Diamond Park and down the other side of Main Street.Everyone is welcome to attend. LANCASTER TWP — The Lancaster Township Historic Records Committee will have Old Home Day 2019 from 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 3 in the Middle Lancaster Community Center, 113 Kings Alley, Harmony.The event will feature refreshments, a basket raffle and door prizes, as well as a program “Rock o Ages: Cemetery Research and Tombstone Art” that starts at 1:30 p.m.Notices of local upcoming news should be received by the Community Department one week in advance of the event.
