Hair salon moves in Adams Township

ADAMS TWP — Capelli’s Hair Salon has moved, but not too far.

The salon’s new address is 525 Beaver St. Ext., which is just four lots from its former location.

Owner Lorrie Kalkbrenner said she chose to move the business to get into a newer building.

“It’s easier access, too,” Kalkbrenner said.

The salon has been at its new spot since May. Kalkbrenner said the location is working out well.

“(We) love it,” Kalkbrenner said.

The salon, which opened in 2001, has eight employees.

New doctor joins Butler practice

Electrophysiologist Madhurmeet Singh has joined the Butler Medical Provider practice of Dr. Jonas Cooper and will see patients in the office at 127 Oneida Valley Road.

Dr. Singh received his medical degree at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed an internal medicine residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago and has completed fellowships in cardiology, advanced heart failure and clinical cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

He is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease and is eligible for board certification in clinical cardiac electrophysiology.

Armco credit union gets high ranking

A banking website has named the Butler Armco Employees Credit Union one of the 200 “healthiest” credit unions in the United States.

DepositAccounts.com ranked the union 137th out of 200 and said it had an A+ rating.

The union has $308.7 million in assets.

The union increased its total deposits by $10.44 million in the past year, resulting in 4.15 percent growth.

Its Texas ratio, which indicates how much capital a bank has versus how the total value of at-risk loans, is 2.43 percent, which the site said is excellent.

The credit union was founded in 1935 and has 29,551 members.

Data company HQ now in Warrendale

MARSHALL TWP — Gray Matter Systems, a process automation provider and data management company, has moved its corporate headquarters to the 223-acre Innovation Ridge Advanced Technology and Office Park in Warrendale.

“This move signifies an important next step in the progression of Gray Matter’s story,” said James Gillespie, president and CEO.

The company, which was based in Sewickley, occupies roughly 10,000 square feet of the office building, which formerly was the headquarters for Medrad.

It provides solutions to problems in the manufacturing, food and beverage, water and wastewater, oil and gas, and energy industries. Its services include data warehousing, advanced analytics, cyber security, work process management, industrial mobility and supervisory control.

The company, which was founded in 1991, also has offices in Houston and Canada.

About 50 people work at the Warrendale office.
