Butler Police
11:43 p.m. Tuesday — Malachi Void III, 27, of Butler was arrested after police allegedly nabbed him with 62 stamp bags of suspected heroin at West Quarry and South Main streets.
Officers were called to the intersection for a report of two men yelling and squaring off to fight. Police found Void and the other man, who they did not identify, arguing in the parking lot of a gas station.
The officers questioned both men. During a pat down search of Void, they found the suspected heroin that was packaged in a plastic bag in his shorts.
Void was arraigned on felony and misdemeanor counts of drug possession, and later placed in Butler County Prison on $50,000 bail.
Butler Twp Police
Wednesday — Police filed additional charges against James F. Cunningham, 33, of Butler, who is suspected in a number of recent vehicle break-ins.
In the most recent cases, Cunningham is accused of the June 3 attempted thefts from two vehicles on Sharon Drive. He is also charged in a separate theft Friday.
Police arrested Cunningham Friday stemming from three vehicle break-ins in and around Home Avenue and for taking a large landscaping stone from a home on Acre Avenue and throwing it through a car window.
The defendant, who is in Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail, faces numerous charges including theft from a vehicle, receiving, stolen property, and loitering and prowling at night.
2:45 p.m. Tuesday — Two students at Butler Intermediate High School face charges stemming from a fight on a school bus. Police cited one youth for disorderly conduct and the other with disorderly conduct and harassment. Police did not identity either student.
7:59 a.m. Tuesday — A vehicle driven by Erika M. Vincent, 23, of Butler rear-ended another vehicle on New Castle Road at Sharon Drive. Police cited Vincent for careless driving. Heather Oesterling, 25, of Butler was the other driver.
