Grant will help fund projects in 2 counties
Two projects in southeastern Butler County will receive nearly $100,000 from a larger grant package for Butler and Armstrong counties.
State Sen. Joe Pittman, R-41st, announced Wednesday that the Commonwealth Financing Authority awarded grants totaling $504,871 for projects in the two counties.
While much of the grant will fund erosion control at Riverfront Park in Kittanning and a rehabilitation project in West Kittanning, projects in Clinton and Buffalo townships in Butler County will receive $98,621.
The project to replace the bridge over Davis Run on Fox Road in Clinton Township will receive $40,000 in Multimodal Transportation Fund dollars.
The deteriorating bridge will be replaced with a 50-foot box culvert.
The Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania was awarded a $58,621 Watershed Restoration Protection Program grant to stabilize the stream bed along Little Buffalo Creek.
“These grants will support important infrastructure and recreation investments throughout Armstrong and Butler counties,” Pittman said.
