Butler police are investigating the death of a 26-year-old woman whose body was found Friday night at her home on Slagle Avenue.

It appeared that Desiree N. Koch had been dead for at least a day, said Butler County Deputy Coroner Larry Barr.

A friend, a 29-year-old Center Township man, told authorities he found the body about 8:30 p.m. when he stopped to visit Koch, said Butler police Deputy Chief David Adam.

A relative said that family had last heard from Koch on July 25.

Barr said an autopsy was performed Saturday but a cause of death is pending results of toxicology tests, which could take several weeks.

The friend reported that after finding Koch unresponsive on the couch he immediately called 911. He told police that the woman had a history of seizures and drug use, Adam said. Police found no drugs or paraphernalia at the home.

Barr pronounced Koch dead about 9:15 p.m. Police reported no signs of foul play or any suspicious activity.
