Clearfield man accused of selling bag of marijuana
CLEARFIELD TWP — A township man was arrested Tuesday on charges that he sold about 1½ ounces of marijuana to a police informant last fall at his home on Fenelton Road.
Steven C. Plyler Jr., 27, is free on $10,000 bail. He is charged with felony counts of delivery and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility.
He also is charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.
The arrest followed a Butler County Drug Task Force investigation, during which Plyler and an informant allegedly set up a drug deal Nov. 25 using the Facebook Messenger app, according to charging documents.
An undercover officer accompanied the informant to Plyler's home on the 200 block of Fenelton Road in Clearfield Township, authorities said, where the defendant is accused of selling a plastic bag of marijuana for $180.
The bag contained 40.1 grams, documents said.
The task force Monday obtained an arrest warrant for Plyler. He was arrested Tuesday evening.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 25 at the office of District Judge Lewis Stoughton in Chicora.
Online court records did not indicate if he has an attorney. He could not be reached for comment.
