Sentencings
County Judge William Shaffer handed down the following sentences Thursday:
Brian G. Hamilton, 47, of Karns City was sentenced to one year of probation for possession of drug paraphernalia. Hamilton was charged Oct. 8, 2019, and pleaded guilty Oct. 5. In a second case, Hamilton was sentenced to one year of probation for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was charged Oct. 8, 2019, and pleaded guilty Oct. 5.
Gary R. Koval, 39, of Butler was sentenced to 15 months of probation for possession of a controlled substance. He was charged Jan. 6 and pleaded guilty June 23. Koval was also sentenced in two summary and misdemeanor offense cases.
Jeffrey M. Wadowsky, 43, of Prospect was sentenced to five years of probation with the first year on house arrest with electronic monitoring for driving under the influence. Wadowsky must also serve 30 hours of community service and pay a $2,500 fine. Wadowsky was charged June 19 and pleaded guilty Sept. 28.
Marco Antonio Cantera Malagon, 22, of Pittsburgh was sentenced to 4.5 years of probation with the first 90 to 180 days in jail for driving under the influence and driving with a blood-alcohol content higher than .02 while his license was suspended. Cantera Malagon was paroled on the jail sentence with the agreement that he would spend the first 105 days on house arrest. He must also serve an additional 90 days on house arrest. Cantera Malagon must also pay $2,500 in fines and serve 150 hours of community service. Cantera Malagon was charged Feb. 19 and pleaded guilty Aug. 24.
Robert Merle Myers Sr., 52, of Grove City was sentenced to four to 24 months minus one day in jail for possessing a firearm without a license and terroristic threats. Myers was immediately paroled with the first four months on house arrest. Myers was charged Jan. 17 and pleaded guilty Oct. 5
Lee R. Hockenberry, 51, of Butler was sentenced to two years of probation and must pay a restitution order for retail theft and disorderly conduct. Hockenberry was charged March 9, 2017, and pleaded guilty Aug. 10.
In a second case, Hockenberry was sentenced to one year of probation and must pay a restitution order for retail theft. He was charged March 14, 2017, and pleaded guilty Jan. 15.
Chad E. Schnur, 47, of East Butler was sentenced to 72 hours to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine for driving under the influence. Schnur was immediately paroled with the first 14 days on house arrest. Schnur was charged Jan. 6 and pleaded guilty Oct. 5.
Gary Dale Decker Jr., 36, of Eighty Four was sentenced to time served to 23 months in jail for simple assault. Decker was charged April 29, 2019, and pleaded guilty Oct. 5.
Leigha Walker, 39, of Greensboro, N.C., was sentenced to a total of three to six months in jail and three years of probation for conspiring to commit forgery and theft. Walker was paroled after receiving credit for time already served. Walker was charged July 30 and pleaded guilty Oct. 30.
Claude Bonner, 60, no address listed, was sentenced to six months of probation with the first 14 days on house arrest and a $1,000 fine for driving under the influence. Bonner was charged Feb. 6, 2017, and pleaded guilty Dec. 4, 2019.
Jajuan Jamar Golden, 35, of Pittsburgh was sentenced to six months to two years minus one day in jail for retail theft. Golden was immediately paroled. He must also pay a restitution order. Golden was charged Oct. 15, 2019, and pleaded guilty July 20.
James William Mankie, 30, of Butler was sentenced to one year of probation for retail theft. Mankie was charged May 29 and pleaded guilty Oct. 6. Mankie’s co-defendant Megan Crislip, 32, of Sharpsville was sentenced to one year of probation for retail theft. Crislip was also charged May 29 and pleaded guilty Oct. 6.
