CRANBERRY TWP — Township officials enlisted scores of children to assist in designing a new playground for North Boundary Park.

Armed with crayons, worksheets and encouragement from organizers, the children sketched out what they thought would be best for the incoming park.

Once finished with their sketches, they compared notes, approving everything from monkey bars to video games.

In addition to the children's assistance, township officials and representatives from the Pennsylvania Municipal League and nonprofit KaBOOM toured the site and discussed some details for the building of the park.

The park will be built on Oct. 4. Officials are planning for around 150 volunteers to help with the project.
