BUTLER TWP — Butler Township will participate in the National Association of Town Watch's 36th Annual National Night Out Aug. 6.

The event starts at 6 p.m. at Butler Township Volunteer Fire Department station, 121 Sparks Ave., Meridian.

Residents will have an opportunity to meet township commissioners, as well as officers from the Butler Township Police Department and members of the fire department.

Firefighters will give tours of the fire trucks, and show off what kind of equipment and gear they use. They will also be recruiting for potential new members.

KARNS CITY — The Karns City United Methodist Church, 117 Petrolia St., will have a basement rummage and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
