Woman hit by car at Cranberry Mall

CRANBERRY TWP — One woman suffered minor injuries after being struck by a car at Cranberry Mall.

At around 11:30 a.m., a motorist struck the woman in a crosswalk near the mall's Bed Bath & Beyond while traveling at a low speed, according to Cranberry police Sgt. Chuck Mascellino.

Mascellino said the pedestrian suffered minor injuries and was knocked down by the collision. She hit her head, but managed to regain her footing and went into a nearby store while awaiting an ambulance. She was transported to UPMC Passavant Cranberry for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle will likely be cited for failure to yield right-of-way to a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk, according to Mascellino.
