Parker man jailed, accused of owning switchblade knife

Randy Risinger

A 34-year-old Parker man is in Butler County Prison, charged with possessing a switchblade knife.

State police responded to a report of an alleged stabbing Wednesday in Petrolia.

Arriving there, police spoke to a woman who said Randy E. Risinger was at her house and had told her to store a knife he had used to stab someone. Police described the discovered knife as a 7-inch-long switchblade, a type of knife that has a spring in the handle to pop the blade out. Under state law, a switchblade is prohibited.

Police searched Risinger at his home. Police said they found a crack pipe, a marijuana smoking pipe and a syringe in his pockets.

District Judge Lewis Stoughton arraigned Risinger on Thursday during a video hearing for misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and possessing offensive weapons. He is being held in the county jail on $50,000 bail, which he is unable to post, according to court records. If he eventually posts it, a condition of his bail is that he cannot possess guns or offensive weapons.

In their report, police do not indicate more information about the alleged stabbing or any victim.

Police couldn't be reached in time for comment.
