A Franklin Township woman is accused of giving a doctor a bloody and swollen lip Saturday, Aug. 22, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Nicole Lynn Morin, 34, was already being restrained on the ground by hospital staff when Butler Township police arrived, according to charging documents. A doctor had a bloody and swollen lip. Blood was coming from her chin and scratches on her ear, neck and chest, according to police.

Morin was charged Tuesday with felony aggravated assault and one misdemeanor count each of simple assault and trespassing following the incident.

Hospital staff told police Morin had signed herself out of the hospital and was being pushed toward the exit in a wheelchair. While being pushed, Morin stood up and refused to leave, police said.

When a doctor told Morin to leave, police said Morin got in the doctor’s face, began waving her hand in front of the doctor’s face and started hitting the ID badge clipped to her. When staff told Morin to back away, she allegedly scratched the doctor.

Police said Morin also attempted to bite another doctor but was unsuccessful.

Morin’s preliminary hearing has yet to be scheduled.
