5:21 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by Leonard H. Hendricks Jr., 58, of Butler struck a stone mailbox post holding three mailboxes and a newspaper box along Crisswell Road.7:15 p.m. Saturday — Two 20-year-old Butler men were caught allegedly shoplifting at the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. Charged with retail theft are Eric J. Clark and Jesse N. Titus. Police said Clark also was charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.12:11 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Margaret McCorkle, 66, of Butler struck the rear of another vehicle on Route 356. James Weaver, 63, of Portersville was the other driver.9:50 p.m. March 22 — Leslie A. Wheeler, 40, of West Sunbury was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after he was found allegedly passed out in his vehicle at Armco Drive and Hansen Avenue. A police report noted that Wheeler was in the driver's seat with the engine running and his foot on the brake pedal.
6:30 p.m. Sunday — An unknown thief broke into or attempted to break into three vehicles and a shed in Brady Township. The crimes happened at homes on Hall Road and Orchid Lane.Saturday — Someone between 8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday vandalized a mailbox on Winfield Road in Winfield Township.3 p.m. Sunday — William George Miller, 24, of Butler was charged with violating a protection from abuse order after allegedly contacting the woman at her Allegheny Township residence.7 p.m. March 19 — Rahmo Mohamed, 19, of Butler was charged with writing bad checks worth a total of $1,035 to Verizon Unwired at Clearview Mall in Center Township.12:43 a.m. March 18 — Corey R. Wagner, 24, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of marijuana at Herman and Schnur roads in Summit Township.
4:28 p.m. Monday — A UPS truck driven by Robert Cook Jr., 40, of New Castle hit a tree off Center Church Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. Cook received moderate injuries to his head, arms and legs. He was flown by medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh for treatment. Cook was listed in stable condition at the hospital this morning. The road was closed for about two hours while crews were at the scene. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
