SR couple arrested in assault, robbery
A couple was arrested Friday for allegedly ambushing a man Thursday and stealing all of his valuables.
Police jailed Lindsey L. Wolfe, 30, and Jeffrey Alan Wolfe, 37, both from Slippery Rock. The two are in Butler County Prison, unable to post their $5,000 bonds. It's unclear if the two are married or related.
According to state police, a third person named Carl Claypoole also attacked the victim, but he has not been charged in the crime and police have not indicated if he was arrested.
District Judge Lewis Stoughton arraigned Lindsey Wolfe on a felony robbery, a misdemeanor of simple assault and summary charges of disorderly conduct and harassment. Jeffrey Alan Wolfe faces charges of felony aggravated assault, robbery, misdemeanors of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and a summary charge of harassment.
According to police, the victim was in a car with the Wolfes on Thursday about 5:54 p.m. when he received a text message tipping him off that the Wolfes intended to “jump him.” The victim got out of the car at the intersection of Oneida Valley and North Washington roads. He began walking south on Oneida Valley Road while the Wolfes idled their car at the victim's walking pace to try to talk to him.Police said that Claypoole appeared from an unknown direction and began to “assault” the victim in the middle of Oneida Valley Road. During the assault, the attackers removed the victim's shirt.Police said that Lindsey Wolfe slapped the victim in the face and removed the victim's necklace. She allegedly also took the victim's other belongings, including clothing, jewelry and a Pittsburgh Steelers bag. She loaded it back into the car and the Wolfes began to drive away. The victim tried to open the door to get his stuff back and the Wolfes allegedly dragged him along with the car until the victim was able to free himself.
