12:39 p.m. Tuesday — Cars driven by Robert K. Thompson, 93, of Karns City and Carina Shay, 40, of Butler collided on South Cliff Street.Friday — Police charged Nikki R. McCrea, 40, of Butler with the April 15 theft of a neighbor's cat in the 900 block of East Jefferson Street. Police suspect McCrea took Mary Bervinkle's tan female cat.

5:31 a.m. Tuesday — Ice on the road possibly caused two separate accidents at the Route 422 bridge.In one wreck, Trevor Zaliponi, 29, of Butler lost control of his car and struck the Jersey barrier.In another crash, Patrick Pavlik, 45, of Natrona Heights, Allegheny County, lost control of his car and also struck the Jersey barrier. Pavlik was taken to Butler Memorial hospital after he complained of back pain.1 a.m. Sunday — Donald Gibler, 20, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his vehicle struck two cars parked on Penn Avenue in Lyndora. In addition to DUI, Gibler faces charges of underage drinking, careless driving, driving at an unsafe speed, driving without insurance and not displaying vehicle registration.

6:20 a.m. Tuesday — Kristin A. Bearer, 48, of Butler lost control of her sport utility vehicle on an ice-covered bridge deck and crashed into a wooden post and concrete barrier on Route 422 just east of Heist Road on Summit Township.Monday — Police charged Travis A. Swidzinski, 26, of Butler with stealing $270 on April 16 from a friend's home on Boyers Road in Marion Township. Swidzinski is charged with theft.Friday — Keith T. Hohman, 21, of Saxonburg was arrested on theft-related charges and on a pair of unrelated bench warrants.Police said Hohman on Thursday or Friday allegedly stole scrap iron from a home on Wylie Road in Clinton Township. Police later found the stolen property at D&D Auto Salvage in Tarentum, Allegheny County.He was arraigned on charges of theft and receiving stolen property, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $25,000 bail.Hohman also was arrested on a warrant for failing to appear at a preliminary hearing on misdemeanor drug charges filed by Butler police in December.Additionally, he was picked up on a warrant for failing to show up for a court hearing in connection with an attempted theft case that Butler police filed in July.

7:02 a.m. Tuesday — One person was hurt when a car driven by Terah Bauman, 22, of Vandergrift rear-ended another car on Route 356 just south of Route 128 in Freeport. Justin J. Ameno, 36, of Apollo, the other driver, suffered minor injuries.6:21 a.m. Tuesday — A pickup truck driven by Blake R. Vallies, 23, of Kittanning struck a guardrail after skidding on ice on Route 28 at the Freeport Road bridge in North Buffalo Township.5:40 a.m. Tuesday — Shawn R. Reesman, 19, of Dayton lost control of his pickup crossing an icy bridge on Route 28 in North Buffalo Township and hit a guardrail.
