4:57 p.m. Monday — A suspected shoplifter is charged with robbery after she fought with store employees who tried to stop her outside Friedman's supermarket on West Brady Street.Tawny Matuke, 21, of Butler was spotted allegedly taking a bottle of laundry detergent and a pack of snack cakes from the store. She shoved employee Ellen Strobel, 45, of Butler while leaving the store, according to a police report.Matuke also is accused of hitting and biting store security officer James Kane, 45, of Butler.In addition to robbery, she is charged with retail theft, simple assault and disorderly conduct.2:06 p.m. Tuesday — Carl Beck, 66, of Summit Township was hurt when a car hit him as he tried to cross Cunningham Street at Washington Street. Beck was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. The driver, John Esper, 65, of Butler Township, was not charged.

8:09 a.m. Monday — A minivan driven by Patrick Rattigan, 47, of Butler and a pickup truck driven by Matthew McCall, 26, of Grove City collided on snow- and ice-covered McCalmont Road.6:53 a.m. Monday — Vehicles driven by Karen Anderson, 29, and Jeffery McAnallen, 38, both of Butler collided at the intersection of Saxonburg and Bullcreek roads. The roads were snow-covered, police said. Anderson, a police report said, faces a ticket for driving at an unsafe speed.5:54 a.m. Monday — Speed and snow were blamed for a three-vehicle crash at the end of Pickelgate Crossing and Route 8.The crash happened, police said, when Mickey Scheller, 18, of Butler lost control of his vehicle on the snow-covered road, and collided with vehicles driven by Deborah Wolfe, 45, of Prospect and Norman Gordon Jr., 56, of Butler.Police said Scheller faces a ticket for driving at an unsafe speed.

Tuesday — Police charged Brandon Seelbaugh, 20, of Grove City with providing two bottles of liquor to a pair of boys at a Grant Street home June 5. Additionally, police said, he threatened to harm one of the boys if he told police that he gave it to them.Seelbaugh is charged with intimidation of victims or witnesses, two counts each of furnishing alcohol to minors and corruption of minors, and underage drinking.

6:50 p.m. Tuesday — A pickup truck driven by Patrick D. Hughes, 42, of Leetsdale, Allegheny County, struck a deer on Interstate 79 just north of Sawyer Road in Muddy Creek Township.3:56 p.m. Tuesday — Zachary J. Bayne, 17, of Butler was cited for driving too fast for conditions after his car hit several pine trees and traveled through a yard on Crisswell Road in Penn Township.4:38 p.m. Monday — Three people were hurt when cars driven by Duane R. Jackson, 22, and David A. Mishler, 58, both of Slippery Rock, collided at Route 108 and Christley Lane in Slippery Rock Township.Both drivers and Lisa M. Swisher, 20, of Lebanon, Pa., a passenger in Jackson's car, were taken to Grove City Medical Center with minor injuries.11:08 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by Julie M. Zimba, 18, of Clarion hit a guardrail on Route 8 near Ralston Road in Slippery Rock Township. Police said Zimba was cited for careless driving.2:50 a.m. Von. 27 — Christian Lee Robinson, 19, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 68 in Oakland Township.

6:42 p.m. Tuesday — An unknown shoplifter stole five purses worth a combined $1,640 at the Coach store, Prime Outlets in Springfield Township.1:55 p.m. Tuesday — Sulien T. Hang, 41, of Grove City was hurt when the sport utility vehicle she was driving struck a utility people along Route 62 in Jefferson Township, Mercer County. Hang, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Sharon Regional Hospital with moderate injuries.5 p.m. Monday — Devin T. Foster, 19, of Grove City was hurt when he lost control of his SUV, traveled through two yards and hit several trees along Cranberry Road in Pine Township.Police said Foster, who was taken to Grove City Medical Center with back pain, was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
