Man, 29, accused of sexual assault

A Center Township man is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in September at his home.

Nathan N. Saul, 29, of Butler was arraigned Tuesday on felony charges of rape and sexual assault, a misdemeanor charge of indecent assault, and a summary charge of harassment after turning himself in to authorities.

The victim told police that she and Saul kissed and had “consensual sexual contact” Sept. 6, according to charging documents, before he got on top of her and told her he wanted to have sex.

But she advised him that she did not want to have sex without a condom. The defendant is accused of holding her down and, “during the struggle,” sexually assaulting her, police said.

The Butler Eagle does not identify victims of alleged sexual crimes.

Police interviewed Saul at the barracks that same day. He recounted having consensual sexual contact with the alleged victim.

He also admitted that he asked the woman if he could have sex with her without a condom, but that she did not want to, police said, and that she told him “you're making me uncomfortable.”

Saul's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 17 at the office of District Judge Lewis Stoughton in Chicora. Online court records did not indicate if he has an attorney.
