Butler Police8:15 a.m. Friday — No one was injured in a four-vehicle, chain-reaction crash on East Jefferson Street. The accident happened when a sport utility vehicle driven by Patricia Double, 52, struck the rear of a car driven by Leonard Hockenberry, 45, both of Oakland Township.The collision forced the car into the back of a pickup truck driven by Martin Southworth, 51, of Donegal Township. Moments later, Kristen Lentz, 25, of Summit Township was unable to stop her car in time and struck the back of the SUV.Double was cited for careless driving.12:03 a.m. Friday — Jason D. Will, 21, and Michael M. Harris, 24, both of Butler, face criminal charges after police stopped them running through the yards of several homes in the area of West Diamond and West Wayne streets.Police chased down both men, catching Will first. He was searched and found with a pellet gun in his waistband. Harris was caught a short time later. Police learned he was wanted on a warrant.Will and Harris are both charged with loitering and prowling at night. Harris was placed in the Butler County Prison on the warrant.9:11 a.m. Thursday —Jonathan J. Dillingham, 19, and Lacey M. Ambrose, 20, of Butler were arrested after a domestic dispute at Dillingham’s home on Peach Street.The couple got into a fight and attacked one another. Ambrose also allegedly tossed a large piece of concrete onto Dillingham’s car and smashed his Apple iPhone.A search of Dillingham turned up a small baggie of marijuana.Both suspects were arraigned on charges of simple assault. Additionally, Dillingham is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and Ambrose is charged with criminal mischief. Following arraignment, they were placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,500 each.

Butler Twp Police6:37 p.m. Thursday — Two boys, ages 15 and 16, were caught with suspected marijuana at the Butler Township Park on South Duffy Road. Police said the suspects, who they did not identify, are charged in juvenile court with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.3:30 p.m. Thursday — One person was hurt when a car driven by Matthew Steele, 31, of Portersville sideswiped another car at Evans City and Benbrook roads.The other driver, Roxanne Slusher, 43, of Butler and her 17-year-old passenger, who police did not identify, suffered minor injuries. Steele was cited for a lane violation.

State Police, Butler10:30 p.m. Thursday — A 20-year-old Chicora man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Lyons and Benbrook roads in Center Township. Police did not identify the suspect, who also faces a ticket for underage drinking.8 p.m. Tuesday — A resident at a Harrisville nursing home is accused of trying to choke another resident. Police did not identify the suspect, a 60-year-old woman, or the alleged victim, a 78-year-old woman.April 20 — Someone used a BB gun to shoot out five windows at a home on Hoot Owl Drive in Connoquenessing Township. The vandalism happened between 1 and 2 a.m.

State Police, Mercer5:12 p.m. Friday — One man was killed and three others hurt in a head-on collision on Interstate 79 in Findley Township.Authorities did not immediately identify the man who was pronounced dead at the scene.Police said the crash happened when a southbound pickup truck driven by Brandon Rose, 36, of Paragold, Ark., crossed the median for no apparent reason and collided with the other man’s northbound sport utility vehicle.Rose and two passengers, Timothy Greene, 33, and Dustin Chipman, 28, both of Paragold, were taken to the Grove City Medical Center and later transferred to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
